      The advent of Dolby Surround processing for videotapes in 1982 made it

      possible to enjoy multi-channel movie soundtracks in the home. In that

      same year SSI offered the first decoder for Home Theater System

      ...Stereo Review 3/98.

      SSI was also the first Dolby Surround licensee worldwide, developed

      Dolby Surround Technology specially designed for the home. After years 

      of supplying these Dolby Surround sound processors to the world's 

      leading audio equipment companies, SSI decided to introduce a series of 

      consumer Audio/Video and Multimedia products under it's own name. 

      In 1995, 97 & 98 SSI was the recipient of the coveted Innovations Award

      for Design & Engineering for it's Home Theater Products at those

      Consumer Electronic Shows. All SSI products are designed and developed

      in the U.S.A where we continue to set trends and meet market demands.
